Welcome to Multilingual Futures

Decolonial language teachers helping each other nurture new fluent speakers faster & have more fun!

Do students leave your language program as fluent speakers?

If not, let's fix that.

We are a team of language teachers and revitalizers who support each other in nurturing new speakers faster, loving our work more, and keeping our languages vibrantly alive.

There isn't time for language classes that don't work.

We help language teachers empower their students and get amazing results in their courses. We are committed to decolonial and anticolonial approaches in our teaching, in our relationships, and in our own thinking. That means growing together and with our students in ✨joy✨.

As you practice using the ALIVE! Framework for Project-Based Language Immersion, you'll see a dramatic increase in engagement, rapid gains in proficiency, and use of the language beyond just the classroom. With consistent implementation, you'll see the "holy grail" of language vitality: learners voluntarily using the language to communicate with one another.

The only catch? This will not be a superficial, band-aid fix. This will be a fundamental transformation of your language program, curriculum, methods, instructional strategies, scheduling, evaluating, and parent engagement. Don't worry, our world-leading experts offer customized coaching on every aspect.

When you subscribe to team membership, we'll help you with challenges in the classroom and empower you to build a more impactful language program. You'll have access to live and self-timed courses, a library of tools and guides, discussions with teammates from around the world, personalized coaching from specialists, and you can earn certificates to show your skills and expertise.

You can save your language. You can. We'll help you and walk beside you. Let's begin!

Transform your program, Get radically different results

We primarily serve schools, communities, and organizations who want to see their learners speaking their language in daily life... but who have been stuck in colors/numbers/animals, or who find students are disengaged or disruptive in language classes. We create, within your organization, a small team of expert curriculum writers, materials developers, instructors, and assessors so that you will be able to customize best language practices to your community and context. School Team Memberships are available for budding programs and more established programs, combining on-site trainings, program evaluation and improvement, curriculum outlining, messaging to parents and community members, as well as our central work: courses and coaching for teachers and administrators.

The biggest difference you will see as your program transforms? Increased engagement from teachers, students, and parents. Everyone loves to be successful! Depending on your program's structure, you may be able to integrate language across the curriculum while increasing the academic achievement of your students. Teachers can earn certificates showing their level of skill, and your program can be certified as a Language Leader.

It is also possible for individual language workers to enroll and to have their costs covered by reimbursement or tax deducted. 4 membership plans are available directly through this site for individuals to join immediately upon approval. We can help you advocate for reimbursement and/or recognition of your skills, just book an initial conversation with us for free.

If you would like to help fund courses and coaching for teachers of endangered and Indigenous languages, you can do so by subscribing as a Sustaining Team Member. These subscriptions help offset the cost of providing free training to teachers of these languages, including elder honorariums. More about membership options inside.

"It works. These methods work. It actually works." -Fluent Elder, Manitoba

"It’s not an exaggeration to say that your teaching was life-changing; not only for me, but for the kids who felt supported and encouraged to learn the language in a natural way, without the confines and pressures of traditional learning. Muchísimas gracias وألف شكر من مصر " - KM, Egypt

"Honestly, this work is so tiring and you get so frustrated. I, too, had just started doing it as an everyday routine without really seeing results. Doing this program has reminded me why I became a teacher 25 years ago. It's actually fun. I feel like I'm starting over!" - VA, Argentina

"When you said at the beginning that you were going to share a way to save our language, I started crying. I feel so hopeless so much of the time. Just hearing that started to heal my heart. And now I can see it and I can see that it really can work. This is giving me hope again and it's healing my spirit." SD, California

"I just didn't believe you, I mean I believed you, at the beginning of the program, but I just didn't think what you were saying was possible for ME or MY language. And I'm so grateful that you've proven me wrong. It really is possible and I just never thought that before. And now I can see so many more things that are possible and that is so exciting. It's a whole new energy and excitement for me and a new view of the future of the language." CL, British Colombia

"I’m so thankful for everything you have taught us. I appreciate your wholistic approach, and that you have you encouraged us in so many ways beyond just as teachers. You have helped us become better teachers, but better people as well." - MK, Manitoba

"As fluent speakers, we get asked to be teachers but we don't necessarily know all those classroom things. They want us to just know it, but we need that training. And here you are using methods that are academic and they show the results, but they are also our ways and not asking us to use the [White] ways. We prayed for that help and you came and this is the way that we can make these kids fluent speakers. We're going to do it." - RC, South Dakota

"You are so generous with sharing your resources & the tools you’ve created with us. Encouraging us to keep going and try new things. I like your creativity & willingness/vision to try new things to bring our languages forward." - ED, Manitoba

"I think back to that class all the time. Not only all the Arabic I learned, but all the techniques you used to teach us. I've never learned so much in a class and it made me really want to learn all those techniques. I'm still thinking about it now when I write my papers for my TESOL degree, and I hope I will be as effective in teaching English." - TA, London UK

"I have enjoyed the many lessons and teachings that you have given.  You may think you are less of something, honestly though you are a beautiful, gifted person who is knowledgeable and very passionate in learning languages and teaching how to teach languages.  May you walk with greatness." - AD, Manitoba

"You are so passionate about teaching others how to do the best they can at passing on their languages. You have so much knowledge that you share generously. I have learned so much from you!" - VD, Manitoba

"The teachers are really excited to implement what they learned. It's more fun for them, too." - AV, Beirut Lebanon

"It is a great honour to be part of your class. You provided a lot of insight on how to deliver and teaching the language to make it a very successful acquisition. Ekosani for sharing your gifts with me." - CO, Manitoba

"My summary of the program is that rather than cultivating sadness in teaching and the lack of life, we are trying to create joy in the classroom, so that the students learn out of a real desire. The class should be life, not an artificial reality." -CK, Paris France

"You bring so much energy and enthusiasm and passion to your teaching, and it makes such a difference, because we know that you care about this, but also that you care about us. That is what really helps us learn. And I have learned SO much!" -CL, British Columbia

"It's easy to have an idea. But it's another thing to have a way. And you've shown a lot of people a way here. It's so valuable to have a perspective on how really to put a vision forward. So thank you." - SD, Manitoba

"There's no final day. Even today, almost 2 years after, I'm using all this wonderful material. Thanks, Anke!" - GC, Argentina
